Big Melbourne Doorknock & Training

Sunday 15 May
11:30am Trainging for new doorknocers
12:00-3:30 Doorknocking
3:30 Debreif over Pizza and drinks in the park

The weekend prior to election day, on Sunday 15 May, Victorian Socialists will be out doorknocking in the electorate of Melbourne.

Help us take our message of putting people before profits to thousands of residents in Abbotsford and surrounding suburbs.

We'll also be promoting our fabulous candidates for the area. Running for the seat of Melbourne, Colleen Bolger is a strident advocate for workers and the oppressed. In 2002 she was part of the Woomera detention centre protests that saw activists and refugees tear down fences, freeing detainees. And our Senate candidate is Aran Mylvaganam, a former refugee, lifelong anti-racism campaigner and trade union organiser, and founder of the Tamil Refugee Council.
New volunteers are welcome! This is an all-in Victorian Socialists campaign event, so we encourage volunteers and supporters from across the state to join us, no matter which electorate you live in.

How the day will run:

*Register for the event here in advance and be emailed a map, instructions and teammates for your doorknocking:

*11:30 Training for new doorknockers in the park

*At 12pm, gather at Gahan Reserve on Park St, Abbotsford, to meet your doorknocking buddies and pick up leaflets. Go out in teams of three to doorknock.

*At 3:30pm, meet back at the park for a debrief over drinks and food (weather permitting). We can share stories about how we went, what works and what doesn’t.
