On the day before early voting begins we are planning our biggest group doorknock yet.
Richmond District (which includes Burnley, Richmond, Fitzroy, Collingwood, North Fitzroy, Clifton Hill) is where the campaign to put a socialist in parliament will be won or lost. Stephen Jolly has been a councillor in the City of Yarra since 2004 and has built a reputation for fighting for community need over developer greed, for taking on corporate interests, standing up against racism, and always being on the side of public housing tenants.
Based on this reputation, in the 2014 state election, Stephen Jolly ran for the lower house seat seat of Richmond and won 3,407 votes (8.5%). We need to make sure these votes, and more, are mobilised on November 24th for the Victorian Socialists.
At this crucial doorknock we will be aiming to knock on 10,000 doors in the district in one afternoon! Please do everything you can to join us, and invite your friends. No experience necessary, everyone will be paired up with a buddy.
Meet at 12pm at Victoria Park, Collingwood at the Brearley Reserve corner. We will have drinks and food afterwards at Edinburgh Gardens in North Fitzroy. Please bring a car if you have access to one.
