Hi, I’m Adam. I'm running as the Victorian Socialists candidate for Sunbury in this November's state election. I’m a proud socialist, teacher, unionist and dad.
I live and work in the Sunbury community and I know that we deserve better than the neglect we receive. I have seen first hand how the high quality educators in our public schools are let down by low funding and degrading conditions. The current political system prioritises the ultra wealthy, ignoring the future of our children, and severely neglecting our public education system.
We are in the middle of a climate crisis, with droughts and floods becoming increasingly common. The major parties are in the pocket of the major polluters, taking donations instead of action. I will ensure that environmental pollution is given the importance it deserves, and tackle the big polluters.
I have helped to lead the community in the fight against major polluters. As a lead organiser for the No Sunbury Waste Incinerator campaign we continue to fight the proposed incinerator on Sunbury/Bulla Rd. We have already taken to the streets, to the news and to parliament to protect our environment. Building a fighting community.
The neglect in the outer west suburbs continues to develop. Neglected community houses; out of date schools and sports centres; distant hospitals; and roads that are falling apart. We see the effects of the cost of living crisis and we need real change. The school, the hospitals and the whole system needs an urgent overhaul.
Politics has not worked for us. We need something that we can all be proud of. We need a system for us, and to put people before profit.
