My vision is rooted in the belief that the challenges we face today require bold, collective action.

Hi, I’m Jack. I’m a local bartender, and a language student at Deakin University.

I’m running in this November’s state election as a candidate with Victorian Socialists because I want to fight the far right, and build a society based on equity, social justice and genuine democracy.

The last few years have seen a disturbing growth of the far right. Donald Trump has come to his second term, and has continued the genocide in Palestine and destruction of the Middle East.

Pauline Hanson's One Nation is now winning electorates around the country. We need to have a fighting, organised, socialist left to confront the anti-working class politics of the far right, and win a society worth living in.

My vision is rooted in the belief that the challenges we face today require bold, collective action. Our politicians rule for the capitalist class and have been increasingly eager to attack our social services and standards of living to pay for ever-more military spending.

Australia is an enormously wealthy society, and there is no reason we should not take the wealth of the rich to fully fund our schools, hospitals, and communities, build public housing, raise wages and ensure a high standard of living for everyone.

Key Issues I Stand For:

*Fighting the Far Right: Fascist politics is on the rise, and it is utilising extreme racism and anti-working class politics to gain popularity. It must be combatted.

*Justice for Palestine: The Labor Party has supported Israel in the destruction and genocide of Gaza, and the intensification of settlements in the West Bank. Australia must sanction Israel, and end the two way arms trade.

*Economic Justice: I support fair wages and workers’ rights. It’s time to end economic inequality and ensure that everyone has access to quality education, healthcare, and affordable housing.

* Environmental Sustainability: The climate crisis is caused by the rich and powerful. They have the power to reorganise society around clean energy, and a symbiotic relationship with our natural environment, but choose not to. They must be forced to by a socialist movement of the working class

I’ve been involved in campaigns against racism, homophobia and transphobia and protests for climate justice. I’ve campaigned in solidarity with the people of Palestine and campaigned for the closure of weapons factories in Melbourne’s east that supply Israel.

If I am elected in November, I’ll fight to build a socialist left which is capable of winning back from the rich and the powerful what we need to have a just and fair society based on serving human needs and not profits.
