If elected, I’ll fight for a fairer Victoria—one where everyone has a secure home, a decent life, and a government that works for people, not profit.
Hi, I’m Lars. I’m standing as a candidate for Victorian Socialists in this year’s state election because I believe in building a society that puts people before profit.
I’ve lived and worked in Melbourne’s south east since immigrating to Australia, raising my family here and working across industries from manual labour to banking. I’m a proud member of the Finance Sector Union and currently work in transactional banking, where I see firsthand how ordinary people are being squeezed by rising costs and a housing system designed to benefit investors, not families.
As someone who came to this country seeking opportunity, I know how much stability, community, and secure housing matter. Yet too many people in and around Rowville are locked out of home ownership or trapped in an impossible rental market.
That’s why I’m campaigning for large‑scale public housing, a freeze on rents, and serious action on empty investment properties. I also support the creation of a publicly owned state bank—one that can offer fair, fixed‑rate home loans for the life of the mortgage, with the ability to lower rates when the market drops but never raise them when it spikes. Housing should be a human right, not a speculative asset.
I’ve been involved in campaigns against racism, for climate action, and in solidarity with workers fighting for dignity and fair conditions. I believe our community deserves public services that are strong, affordable, and in public hands.
If elected, I’ll fight for a fairer Victoria—one where everyone has a secure home, a decent life, and a government that works for people, not profit.
