In this election in November, we have the choice to vote for hope in the possibility of a better world.

Hi, I'm Mahee, and I’m running in this year’s state election as a candidate with Victorian Socialists because I believe in the possibility of a future where the power and profit motives of the rich do not ruin the world for the majority.

I’ve lived in south east Melbourne my entire life. I was born in Dandenong and currently live in Endeavour Hills. I’m a software engineer, and a delegate for the Finance Sector Union.

We live in one of the richest nations in the world, with Australia consistently being in the top 20 countries for GDP per capita. However, working-class people no longer can feel this.

The housing shortages and cost of living crisis are a result of the wealth in our society being funnelled to the rich, while the rest of us are being left behind. Parties like Labor and Liberals enable this rort, while One Nation would make it worse while destroying our communities in the south east.

I am running to oppose all of this, and to work towards rebuilding the ability of the working class to fight back.

I have been a proud community activist for many years. My activism started with climate change, then expanded to fighting racism and the far right, and against the closing of community healthcare clinics in Melbourne by the Labor government.

Over the last few years, I’ve campaigned in solidarity with the people of Palestine and against Israel’s wars in Gaza, Iran and Lebanon. Through this I have learnt that all of these issues are linked - the underlying cause is capitalism.

In this election in November, we have the choice to vote for hope in the possibility of a better world. Vote 1 Victorian Socialists.
