Our region has seen repeated failed promises from both the Labor Party and the Liberals to build a new hospital in Warragul, and to improve access to healthcare and education throughout our region.

Hi I’m Max. I’m proud to be running as the lead candidate for the Victorian Socialists in the Eastern Victoria region.

I’ve been proud to call Warragul my home for the majority of my life. I’ve worked in the medical software industry for three years and am currently studying to become a nurse and am a member of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Union.

Our region has seen repeated failed promises from both the Labor Party and the Liberals to build a new hospital in Warragul, and to improve access to healthcare and education throughout our region. They made these promises in an attempt to buy our votes, but have instead diverted funding to projects in Melbourne that serve only to enrich their corporate donors.

I got seriously involved in politics when Israel escalated their war in the Gaza Strip and West Bank. And I’ve been involved in campaigns and protests against racism and fascism, and the open invitation of Israel’s war criminal president to our shores.

I believe we need a genuine anti-establishment alternative to combat the rise of the far-right, anti-worker One Nation party, which is being funded by some of the richest people in Australia for their own benefit.

One Nation’s rise has been made possible only by the failures of the major parties to address the issues facing working-class people. That’s a reason I’m with the Victorian Socialists, a party that wants to tear down the economic and political structures that serve the interests of billionaires and big corporations, and build a society that works for everyone.

If elected in November, I will take on the big corporate interests that dominate politics and take up this fight every day for the people of Eastern Victoria, to improve access to housing, healthcare, and education, and more.
