Decades of neglect by the major parties has left us far behind the more wealthy and privileged parts of the state. We deserve better.
Hi, I’m Natalie. I was born and raised in the Latrobe Valley and became a socialist after living through the devastating Hazelwood mine fire. I know firsthand what it means when corporate interests are prioritised over working-class lives.
Rural and regional Victorians have gotten the short end of the stick. Currently, politics is rigged for the rich and billionaires like Gina Rinehart are backing the far right. They want us to blame each other for the problems that politicians and bosses created.
Migrants didn’t cause the housing crisis. It’s the big banks, developers and wealthy property investors that are squeezing working-class households through constant rent and mortgage rate increases. And it’s big business and billionaires like Gina Rinehart that are making are lives harder by increasing the price of everything so that they can boost their profits.
We deserve better. In a country as wealthy as Australia, no one should have to struggle just to keep a roof over their head and food on the table.
We need first-class services that are fully funded - better hospitals, better schools, proper support in the community. This is particularly the case in places like Morwell, where decades of neglect by the major parties has left us far behind the more wealthy and privileged parts of the state.
In parliament I’ll fight for a society where everyone - no matter who you are or where you’ve come from - has what they need to live a good and safe life.
