Our community deserves a representative in parliament who will fight for working-class people against the entrenched corporate interests that dominate politics today.
Hi I’m Nicholas. I’m running in this year’s state election as a candidate with Victorian Socialists because I believe in building a better and fairer society.
I’m a Glen Waverley local and have lived in the area for my whole life. I believe our community deserves to have a representative in parliament who will fight for working-class people against the entrenched corporate interests that dominate politics today.
Politicians at all levels of government are in the pockets of the rich, and have grown increasingly out of touch with the people they’re supposed to represent. In a wealthy society like Australia, everyone should have the chance to live a decent life. Today, the people at the top are seeing their wealth grow rapidly, while many at the bottom are being left behind.
I’m running in this election because I want to help turn this situation around, and tackle urgent issues like the housing shortage, the decline in public services and infrastructure, and the rise of far-right politics of racism and division.
As a young person, I feel personally invested in trying to win a better, fairer and more peaceful world. In recent years I’ve thrown myself into community campaigns against racism and in solidarity with the people of Palestine facing genocide at the hands of Israel. When the Australian government invited Israeli President Isaac Herzog to tour the country in February - I was part of protests making clear he wasn’t welcome.
If elected in November, I’ll fight for our community and for the better world that we need and deserve.
