People in Preston and Reservoir deserve secure housing and a decent standard of living.

Hi, I’m Serena. I live in Preston and have for seven years, and I’ve loved the area since day one. I work in the mental health sector, and I’m an activist and a unionist.

People in Preston and Reservoir deserve secure housing and a decent standard of living. Instead, many are dealing with rising rents, insecure housing, and the increasing cost of essentials like childcare, healthcare and aged care.

Governments continue to side with developers, landlords and big business instead of the people who live here.

We must put people before profit. That means serious action on the housing crisis, properly funding public services, and treating care as a public responsibility, not a business opportunity.

It also means investing in the facilities people rely on every day. Preston and Reservoir locals deserve high-quality public facilities, and I’ll fight for proper funding and long-overdue upgrades to places we use and care about, including the Reservoir Leisure Centre.

I’ve been active in campaigns for a free Palestine and against Australia’s involvement in weapons manufacturing and military exports. I’ve also been involved in organising against racism and opposing the far right.

I’m standing as the Victorian Socialists candidate to challenge Labor’s neglect of Preston and Reservoir and to fight to put people before profit.
