I believe in a future where society is organised for the working class, by the working class.

Hi I’m Tayne. I’m standing in this year’s state election as a candidate with Victorian Socialists, because I believe in a future where society is organised for the working class, by the working class. It’s workers who make our economy and society run, and I think it would be better if they actually ran things too.

I'm standing in the Bendigo West electorate where I grew up and currently live. I'm a foreman for a building company and over the years have worked in construction all across regional Victoria.

Workers in Victoria are facing so much material instability while living in a country with such abundance of wealth. Every year the billionaires get richer, and big corporations make record profits, while on the other side many struggle just to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table.

My mission in this election is to draw attention to who is actually responsible for this deepening inequality and injustice - like major developers and property investors, big banks, and the supermarket giants - and argue against the excuses propagated by Labor, the Liberals and the anti-worker and racist One Nation party.

Since I got involved with the Victorian Socialists I've spoken at events campaigning against racism, I've organised and spoken at protests in solidarity with the people of Palestine and recently ran for a council seat in a by-election during which the VS Bendigo comrades and I letterboxed and door knocked thousands of homes.

I hope to make an impact on regional politics this election and if elected I promise to be a radical voice, fighting for the demands of working-class people in our community and across regional Victoria.
