Politics in the Pub: Red Carpets & Riot Police

Join VS Northcote at our relaxed politics in the pub event. We'll be discussing the recent visit of Israeli President/war criminal, Isaac Herzog, alongside the accompanying repression of the Palestine movement and a discussion on how, in the face of an emboldened Far-Right, we build a serious left-wing, anti-racist alternative.

Tens of thousands of people took the streets in every major city to oppose the architect of the Palestinian genocide - a war criminal invited by the ALP who would roll out the red carpet and celebrate the bashing of peaceful protestors by the police.

What does Herzog’s visit and the repression of our movement say about where the Australian political situation is heading? How can we build on the massive outpouring of solidarity shown by the protests all the while confronting an emboldened right wing and the record polling of One Nation in Victoria?

Join the Northcote Socialists (including pre-selected candidate for the 2026 State Election, Kath Larkin) for politics in the pub at the Peacock hotel.
