Melbourne says no to Hanson: Letterboxing blitz

Sat 21 Mar 11:00 AM

A day of letterboxing and community conversations in working-class suburbs around Melbourne, distributing material opposing Pauline Hanson and One Nation.

Pauline Hanson's One Nation party has risen from a relatively marginal far-right fringe group to a major player in Australian politics. This has serious implications for our communities, and Victorian Socialists aims to play our part in pushing back against it.

Hanson’s bigotry is infamous, including her comments targeting Muslims and Indians, alongside migrants in general. Her increased popularity is an immediate and direct risk to those groups. But more broadly, Hanson is also a stooge for the billionaires, pretending to be a populist while voting to cut taxes for corporations, against penalty rates, and for lowering funding to schools and hospitals.

To respond to this situation VS is organising a letterboxing and community conversation blitz in working-class suburbs around Melbourne. We call on all our members and supporters to help us distribute material and talk to voters being targeted by her dishonest and racist propaganda.
