Banyule - Fighting Hanson: Then & Now

Join us for a discussion of how socialists have combated One Nations racist lies in the past and how best combat their rise now

You may have been disturbed to see Pauline Hanson’s One Nation Party surging in the polls, more than tripling their support from 6% to over 25% nationally and over 20% in Victoria.

The next Banyule branch meeting will be focused on how socialists in the past have combated their racists lies and how we can do that today.

Our member Fleur Taylor will be giving a brief account of fighting Pauline Hanson’s emergence in the 1990s, followed by a discussion on how we can best put forward an alternative vision of anti-racist solidarity and united struggle to win the change we need and deserve.

We’ll be workshopping anti-racist arguments, so if you’ve got a racist uncle you’d like to argue with, this could be the meeting for you. Join us to pick up some useful tips!
