All-in Footscray Mega Doorknock

We have big plans this election to take our message of putting people before profit to thousands of homes across Victoria - doorknocking is how we do it! All Victorian Socialists volunteers are encouraged to join this all-in mega doorknock in Footscray.

We will be meeting at 12pm at the Footscray Park rotunda near the corner of Ballarat Rd and Mills Close. We will hear from our local candidates and coordinators before we break into door knocking groups. You are encouraged to come by car, if possible, so we can reach all areas of the electorate. Parking is available at Footscray Park via Maribyrnong Blvd.

Through conversations on doorsteps we want to share our vision for society and convince people to vote Socialist, meet more volunteers for the campaign, get yard signs up across the city and find out what issues matter to the people we’re talking to.

Footscray is one of Victorian Socialists’ heartlands, with up to 1 in 5 people voting Socialist in some areas of the electorate. We will be campaigning for local candidate Jasmine Duff and Anneke Demanuele for Western Metro. 

If you’re new to doorknocking, don’t worry! You will be paired up with an experienced volunteer who can show you the ropes and you will be provided with some useful talking points. You are also encouraged to attend the Volunteer Training Days on Saturday 8 August in Footscray and Brunswick to learn the skills you can put into practice.     

We will be reconvening in the park afterwards to debrief our stories from the day over pizza and drinks! 

What to bring:

• A car, if possible

• Water, sunscreen/weather-appropriate gear

• Your energy and enthusiasm!
