Thornbury Doorknock
Sat 15 Aug @ 12:00 PM
Join local socialists as we hit the streets of Thornbury to talk with our neighbours about building a real socialist alternative!
We'll meet outside Thornbury Train Station for a short volunteer briefing, where we'll explain the campaign, answer any questions and provide training for new volunteers. Then we'll head out in pairs to nearby streets to chat with local residents about voting Victorian Socialists, displaying a yard sign, donating to the campaign and getting involved in our growing socialist movement.
First time? You're especially welcome!
No experience is needed. We'll make sure you feel confident before we begin, and every new volunteer is paired with an experienced campaigner. You won't be thrown in the deep end. Most of our volunteers started exactly the same way.
After we've finished doorknocking, we'll head to Cafe Gummo for a drink, a bite to eat and a campaign debrief. It's a great chance to unwind, share stories from the doors, reflect on what we've learnt and get to know other local socialists.
What to bring
Comfortable walking shoes
A water bottle and sunscreen or weather-appropriate clothing
Your enthusiasm and a willingness to have a chat!
Building a genuine political alternative for working-class people doesn't happen through big corporate donations. It happens because ordinary people step up, have conversations with their neighbours and organise together. Every conversation helps grow our movement and brings us one step closer to winning real change.
RSVP so we know how many volunteers and campaign materials to prepare. We'd love to see you there!
