Help Vic Socialists on Polling Day

Have you ever grabbed a how-to-vote from one of our friendly volunteers on your way in to vote? For so many, that brief interaction can make the difference in their decision to vote for us or not. That’s why we want volunteers at every booth, introducing socialism into the minds of voters just before they cast their ballot. This is your chance to turn your local community socialist. 

Victorian Socialists are running our largest campaign to date in the upcoming state election. We’re fielding candidates in all 88 seats in Victoria. This is a massive opportunity for the burgeoning socialist movement, and we need your help on November 28. We’re aiming to have Victorian Socialists campaigners on as many of the 1,700 polling booths across the state as possible. 

We think it’s important to raise the bar because the stakes are high. The status-quo is broken. Inequality is careering out of control, essential services are crumbling, and the toxic politics of the far right have been pushed into the mainstream. 

There’s never been a more urgent time to grow the socialist movement and put forward a challenge to the capitalist parties. We’re bringing a message of hope to an otherwise despairing political climate by pointing out that things don’t have to be this way. And we want to elect socialist MPs who can spend the next four years holding the powerful to account and making our movement even stronger. 

To do this we need your help. As a people-powered party that doesn’t get big corporate donations, we rely on dedicated volunteers and face-to-face campaigning to have an impact. 

Whether you live in Brunswick or Bendigo, there will be a polling booth near you where you can help out on election day. Showing up for the day or even just a couple of hours to hand out our Socialist how-to-votes can make a measurable difference. We will provide materials and support. Just bring yourself - and any friends, family or workmates you can find.
