Meet Mahee Hossain for Mordialloc

Hey, I’m Mahee Hossain, and I am proud to be the socialist candidate for Mordialloc in this state election!

As a young worker who has grown up and lived in the South East my whole life, I have seen first hand how capitalism has been hurting our communities. The gulf between the haves and have nots has been deepening, and life is getting harder and harder for working class people. 

I am a proud union rep with the Finance Sector Union, and have been a community activist for many years. My activism started with the climate change movement, then expanded to fighting racism and the far right, and organising in to oppose the genocide in Gaza. Since joining the Socialist Party, I have also been active in fighting Labor’s closing of community healthcares, and demolishing of public housing. 

I am running because I think we need fighters in parliament who will go out to bat for the interests of the working class over the capitalists. Come on down to have a chat with me! Questions, ideas, comments - everything is welcome.

Afterwards, we will go and do some letterboxing for my campaign in the local area. Unlike the major parties, we don’t have any rich backers, we rely on volunteers such as yourself to radically change politics in this country!
