Western Metro All-In Doorknock: St Albans & Niddrie
Sun 25 Oct @ 12:00 PM
Join Victorian Socialists for this all-in Western Metro doorknock in St Albans and Niddrie.
We will be meeting at 12pm at St Albans Square, next to St Albans Station. We will head out in doorknocking teams to let people know about local candidates Leanna Nguyen for St Albans and Brendan Laws for Niddrie.
Leanna is a lifelong St Albans local, university student and anti-racist activist. Growing up in St Albans she has seen how everything from the public schools, hospitals and transport have suffered from decades of underfunding by the Labor government and now parties like One Nation want to lay the blame on migrant working class communities. Leanna wants to build an anti-racist fight back that can win the type of society that working class people deserve.
Brendan is a teacher and proud trade unionist. Brendan helped to organise the historic campaign in the Australian Education Union which saw tens of thousands of teachers and education support staff shut down schools and take to the streets to demand the much need improvement in funding and conditions public schools deserve. Brendan is taking on the very person responsible for the state of public education in Victoria, former Education Minister, now Premier Ben Carrol.
Please bring a car, if possible, so we can reach all areas of the electorates.
If you’re new to doorknocking, don’t worry! You will be paired up with an experienced volunteer who can show you the ropes and you will be provided with some useful talking points.
