Western Metro All-In Doorknock: Laverton & Kororoit

We will be meeting at 12pm at Bon Thomas Reserve, Quinn St, Deer Park. We will head out in doorknocking teams to let people know about local candidates Van Thanh Rudd For Laverton and Rayan Hassan for Kororoit.

Van is a public school maintenance worker, community soccer coach and political artist. Van is running in the state election to fight for adequate funding for public schools, affordable housing and an expansion of community services to improve the lives of working class families.

Rayan is a youth worker who has seen the human cost of the political failures of the Labor government. Whether it’s families going without housing and meals, or workers burning out just to make ends meet, these are political choices of a party that priorities business interests over working class communities. Rayan is running because working class people in the western suburbs deserve to be represented by someone who will fight for them.

Please bring a car, if possible, so we can reach all areas of the electorates.

If you’re new to doorknocking, don’t worry! You will be paired up with an experienced volunteer who can show you the ropes and you will be provided with some useful talking points. There will also be plenty of time to get to know other volunteers before and after the doorknock, with a debrief happening at a pub nearby.

What to bring:

• Comfortable shoes

• A car, if possible

• Water, sunscreen/weather-appropriate gear

• Your energy and enthusiasm! And rage at the system of capitalism!
