Western Metro All-In Doorknock: Sydenham & Sunbury

We will be meeting at 12pm at Sydenham Library, near Watergardens Station. We will head out in doorknocking teams to let people know about local candidates Shania Khan for Sydenham and Adam Bremner for Sunbury.

Shania is a train-driver, unionist, and anti-racist activist who has grown up in Sydenham her whole life. She knows what its like to be left-behind by the major parties, who only fan the flames of racism in our suburbs while refusing to build adequate public transport or a public hospital in the local area.

Adam is a proud teacher and unionist, who was involved in the historic campaign and strikes by teachers in Victoria this year. As a lead organiser for the No Sunbury Waste Incinerator campaign, he has helped to lead the Sunbury community in the fight against major polluters, campaigning against the proposed incinerator on Sunbury/Bulla Rd - taking to the streets, to the news and to parliament to protect our local environment.

Please bring a car, if possible, so we can reach all areas of the electorates.

If you’re new to doorknocking, don’t worry! You will be paired up with an experienced volunteer who can show you the ropes and you will be provided with some useful talking points. There will also be plenty of time to get to know other volunteers before and after the doorknock, with a debrief happening at a pub nearby.

What to bring:

• Comfortable shoes

• A car, if possible

• Water, sunscreen/weather-appropriate gear

• Your energy and enthusiasm! And rage at the system of capitalism!
